Admittedly it had some issues, Saturday was incredibly overcrowded and the heat was borderline unbearable, but otherwise it was awesome. To be honest I slightly regret working as I'm pretty sure I missed out on a lot. I was on the stand all day Saturday, so didn't see much, and then Sunday I got a little bit of time to take a wonder round.
Some of the cosplays I saw over the weekend were absolutely incredible. A couple of them really stood out for me, there was a guy fully decked out as The Thing, and a guy in a full Alien costume. I'm fairly sure they must have been totally melting. I also saw a number of Deadpool's, a Batman, lots of Harley Quinn's, Jokers, but there was one that I loved more than anything. It was a Jack Sparrow cosplay. I saw two of them (and a guy who wasn't in cosplay but looked like Jack) and the first one was impressive, but the second one was amazing. Not only did he have all the mannerisms and the voice, but he had the pistol, with one shot, when I asked him where his compass was he told me he lost it, and when I asked him where his hipflask was he, naturally, said that the rum was gone, why is the rum always gone? And when I shook his hand, he pulled his sleeve up to reveal the Jack Sparrow tattoo. For him it was more than just a costume it was his life. That impressed me!
The whole event was incredible, I got to meet Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli from Heroes) and he was amazing, he thought I was mad for wearing killer heels with my costume, and he wrote on the picture he signed for me that I'm out of my mind, I mean that's about as personal as it gets! I also met Lena Heady from 300, Dredd, Game of Thrones and the Sarah Connor Chronicles, she was funny and sweet and just gorgeous, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who is Bran in Game of Thrones, he was an absolutely adorable kid, and George A. Romero, who was a sweetheart! I was surprised at how old he is!
