This is something that has me genuinely baffled, because the program works fine. Other programs that give this option are the call logging program Heat, the image manipulation program GIMP, VMWare Player. I've never had a problem opening and running any of these programs, so they must be compatible with Windows 7 right?
Anyway, I figured, since I had the option I might as well use it, so here's a little post on how to configure application and program compatibility!
There are a couple of ways you can do this, the easy way, and the slightly less easy way.
The easiest way to do it is to just click on the "Troubleshoot compatibility" options and let Windows do its thing.

The other way to do this is using the properties menu for the program.
Right click on the program and select properties.

Select the compatibilty tab at the top of the box

Tick the box for running the program in compatibility mode, and click apply and ok and then that's it, your program will now run in compatibility mode.
